Here's What South Shore Infant Aquatics Self-Rescue Swim Program is All About...

If you’ve ever worried about the thought of your child near water—whether it’s at a backyard pool, the beach, or even bath time—knowing they have the skills to self-rescue changes everything.

The water is no longer the constant fear or a potential life-changing danger that keeps you up at night. It becomes a place where your child is safer, and you can finally feel at ease.

If that sounds like what you’ve been searching for, then this is going to be one of the most important messages you’ve ever read.

Hi, my name is Candice Schloesser. A few years ago, I lived my worst nightmare—watching my 3 year old, excited about swimming jump into the pool... head first... without his floaties.

You might not realize this, but floaties actually work against teaching children how to swim. They give kids a false sense of security, making them think they can safely float when they jump the water.

Worse, they train children to rely on an unnatural, upright position in the water—the exact opposite of what they need to survive in a real emergency.

Luckily... I was there to pull him out. But I can't help but wonder, "What if I wasn't there?"

Floaties made him feel confident enough in the water to jump in, but they could have very easily been the cause of something much much worse...

And with that, I started South Shore Infant Aquatics Swim School in League City, Tx — Proudly Teaching The Infant Aquatic's Self-Rescue Survival Swim Program.

What is the Infant Aquatics Self Rescue Swim Program?

At South Shore Infant Aquatics, we don’t just teach swim lessons...

We give parents something far more valuable—peace of mind.

With the Infant Aquatics Self-Rescue Swim Program, your child learns the to swim and float so they can get to safety in any real-world situation.

We get kids swimming and floating in less time than other programs—without the drawn-out daily lessons that take over your schedule.

And we do it in a way that kids actually enjoy.

No fear-based teaching. No endless tears. Just age-appropriate, play-based lessons that make learning feel like second nature.

And while other programs stop at survival, we go further—showing you how to practice with your child at home so they keep getting stronger and more confident in the water.

Because this isn’t just about lessons. It’s about knowing your child is truly safe.

And that? Changes everything.

Newborn Swim Lessons (Under 15 Months)

For babies as young as 6 months the goal is simple: teach them to roll onto their backs and float.

If your baby accidentally falls into the water, this life-saving skill ensures they can breathe and remain calm until help arrives.

Through gentle, individualized lessons, your baby will learn to trust the water while mastering the ability to float independently.

Toddler & Preschool Swim Lessons (1-6 Years Old)

For Toddlers & Preschoolers, the Swim-Float-Swim program focuses on teaching kids to swim a short distance, roll onto their backs to float, and roll over and continue swimming.

These lessons are personalized to meet your child’s abilities and taught in a supportive, encouraging environment.

What Sets Infant Aquatics Apart from Other Self-Rescue Swimming Programs?

Infant Aquatics was created by a former ISR Master instructor who wanted to improve how infant swim classes are taught and make them better for kids and parents.

So while some programs rely on rigid, one-size-fits-all methods that can leave kids crying, feeling overwhelmed and discouraged.

And others try to stretch out lessons, piling on surprise fees and leaving you unsure when it will all end.

That’s not how we work...

Our Clear Pricing, Worry Free Guarantee

We’re all about keeping things simple and stress-free—for you and your child.

Unlike other programs that may hide their prices and surprise you with extra weeks... we make our pricing clear from the start—no surprises, no hidden costs (and you can tap here to see pricing).

And here’s our promise to you: If your child hasn’t mastered their program by the end of the scheduled lessons, we’ll keep working with them, for free, until they do.

Because at the end of the day, your child’s safety and success are what matter most.

Teaching with Kindness

Every child learns differently and very lesson is tailored to your child’s age, personality so they’ll feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

We don’t rush or use rigid methods that leave kids feeling stressed and overwhelmed.

Instead, we build trust and confidence, so your child feels safe in the water.

Our instructors know swimming can feel scary at first, so they take extra care to create a positive experience.

This approach helps kids learn faster and feel good about what they’re doing.

Skills That Last a Lifetime

We believe that true water safety extends beyond our lessons.

That's why we invite parents to join us in the pool, scheduling dedicated time for you to learn how to practice these essential skills with your child.

By actively participating, you'll gain the confidence to reinforce and maintain your child's abilities long after the program concludes.

And - to keep your child progressing, we offer weekly 15-minute sessions throughout the summer.

These short, consistent lessons help your child retain skills and build confidence, guiding them toward becoming a strong, capable swimmer.

Why We Chose Infant Aquatics Over Other Self-Rescue Programs

We don’t just teach children to swim—we teach them to love and feel confident in the water and to carry those skills with them for life.

Our desire is to improve the way Infant Swim Lessons and Swim-Float-Swim programs are taught in League City, TX.

Infant Aquatics focuses on kindness, emotional safety, clear pricing, and long-term success.

And with the Infant Aquatics Program being developed by a former ISR Master instructor who saw the need for improvement in teaching methods... It was the clear choice to partner with.

By choosing Infant Aquatics, you're selecting a program that prioritizes your child's safety, comfort, and long-term development in the water.

But you still might be asking...

Isn’t My Child Too Young to Learn How to Swim?

It’s natural to wonder if a baby or toddler is ready for something as advanced as survival swim lessons.

The answer is: absolutely.

Babies as young as six months can learn to roll onto their backs and float in water.

This isn’t about swimming laps or holding their breath for long periods.

It’s about teaching a life-saving reflex that gives you more time in an emergency situation.

The Infant Aquatics Self-Rescue Survival Program is gentle and designed to work with your child’s natural instincts.

Lessons are one-on-one and paced just right for their age and ability.

The Infant Aquatics method isn’t experimental. It’s backed by decades of research and used by thousands of families around the world.

The earlier your child learns, the safer they’ll be.

And the peace of mind you’ll gain as a parent?

That’s priceless.

Will Infant Aquatics Self-Rescue Survival Lessons Traumatizing To Kids?

Gentle. Encouraging. Empowering. That’s Our Approach.

We understand your concern. The thought of your child feeling scared or overwhelmed is hard for any parent to bear.

That’s why our approach prioritizes patience, care, and trust... and a lot of play.

At the start of lessons, it’s common for children to express their feelings through tears. This is their way of processing something new.

It’s not fear—it’s adjustment. And we see this all the time.

But here’s what’s truly amazing: those same children often finish their lessons with big smiles.

Many of them become excited to get back in the water, proud of the new skills they’ve learned.

They go from uncertainty to confidence, mastering the ability to swim-float-swim with ease.

Our instructors are trained to make this transition as smooth (and fun) as possible.

Unlike some programs that rush through short sessions, leaving kids anxious... we take a different approach.

Our lessons are 15 minutes long, four days a week giving your child more time to get comfortable.

Our pool is filled with toys, and we incorporate a lot of play into our teaching.

This creates a safe and comforting experience for both kids and parents.

These aren’t harsh lessons—they’re empowering experiences that set your child up for lifelong safety and confidence in the water.

The Infant Aquatics Swim-Float-Swim program helps your child learn life saving skills faster than other programs (and with less effort from you).

And most importantly, they develop a love for swimming, not a fear of it.

Why Can't We Just Supervise Our Child at All Times?

As parents, we’ve been there. You think, I’m always watching.

Nothing bad will happen while I’m around.

But the truth is, even the most attentive parents can’t predict every moment.

It might be a phone call. A sibling needing your attention.

Or a child darting into the water faster than you can react. It only takes seconds.

For me, it was simply setting stuff down when we got to the pool.

I went to the table to set everything down and my toddler got excited about jumping into the pool because his floaty made him feel safe in the water.

But he didn’t have his floaty this time—it was still in my hand.

And now this event haunts me constantly.

What if it happens again?

I can only imagine what would have happened if I hadn’t been there or if the table had been around a corner and I didn’t see him jump in.

That’s why survival swim lessons are essential.

They’re not a replacement for supervision—they’re a safety net when life’s unexpected moments catch you off guard.

Survival swim isn’t about teaching kids to swim laps or play water games.

It’s about giving them the skills to survive.

If they fall into a pool, they’ll know how to float.

If they find themselves struggling, they’ll know how to stay calm and breathe until help arrives.

We’ve seen this firsthand.

Kids in our program learn these skills quickly, and parents walk away with peace of mind, knowing their child is safer no matter what life throws at them.

I’ve Heard Self-Rescue Lessons Aren’t Really Effective. Will These Skills Last Over Time?

Here’s the deal: water safety skills only matter if they last.

That’s why we don’t just teach your child—we teach you how to practice these skills with them.

We get you in the pool, side by side with your child.

We’ll show you how to practice with them to help them build confidence, master swim-float-swim techniques, and stay strong even after lessons are over.

But let’s be real—kids forget things. Growth spurts happen.

Time out of the water can make them rusty. That’s why refresher lessons are available to keep them sharp.

Whether it’s a quick touch-up before summer or the full Swim-Float-Swim program after time away, we make sure your child stays confident and capable in the water.

No surprises. No setbacks.

At Infant Aquatics, it’s not just about lessons—it’s about giving you the tools to keep your child safe and strong, season after season.

Because when your child knows how to handle the water, you can rest easy.

Why Not Just Do Traditional Swim Classes?

Traditional swim classes are great for splashing around, learning to kick, blow bubbles, and feeling cozy in the water.

But let’s ask the big question—what happens when it’s not fun?

What happens if your child falls into the water unexpectedly?

Kicks and paddles won’t save them.

A fun little “blow bubbles” drill won’t either.

That’s where Infant Aquatics is different.

We’re not here to just teach swimming—we’re here to teach survival.

In just 6-8 weeks, your child will master the swim-float-swim technique.

They’ll know how to roll over, float on their back, and stay calm until help arrives.

These aren’t just lessons—they’re critical skills that could save their life.

Traditional classes might stretch out lessons for months, teaching strokes before safety.

But what’s the point of strokes if your child can’t stay safe in an emergency?

Infant Aquatics gives your child what they need first: the ability to survive.

We don’t mess around with fluff.

We focus on real skills, real safety, and real confidence—for both your child and you.

The truth? Splashing is fun. Survival is better.

Why Can't We Just Use Floaties?

Floaties might seem like a quick fix. They keep your kid upright, laughing, and splashing around in the water.

It feels safe... until it’s not.

The truth is, floaties don’t teach survival. They teach false confidence.

Kids using floaties get used to relying on something else to keep them safe.

But what happens when those floaties aren’t there?

In an emergency, the skills your child actually needs—like floating on their back, staying calm, and swimming to safety—won’t be there either.

Here’s the problem: floaties keep kids in a vertical position.

But in real life, staying safe in the water means doing the opposite.

That’s why we do things differently.

At Infant Aquatics, we ditch the floaties and teach real survival skills.

Our Self-Rescue lessons focus on the swim-float-swim sequence.

Your child will learn how to float on their back, catch their breath, and get to safety—all without relying on any devices.

Sure, some kids come in clinging to their floaties. They feel unsure, maybe even scared.

But give it a few weeks, and everything changes.

By the end of our program, kids are jumping in, smiling ear to ear, and showing off skills that make them truly safe in the water.

Here’s the deal: floaties might keep your kid happy for now, but they won’t save them when it matters.

The skills they’ll learn with Infant Aquatics will.

And those skills? They last a lifetime.

Will My Child Hate Swimming After Infant Aquatics?

We’ve heard it before: “If my child cries or struggles, won’t they grow to hate swimming?”

It’s a valid concern. No parent wants to force their child into something that causes fear or discomfort.

But let us reassure you—what starts as uncertainty often turns into excitement.

Here’s why...

Learning something new can feel overwhelming at first.

Think about the first time you tried to ride a bike, tie your shoes, or even dive into a pool.

There might have been frustration, maybe even a few tears.

But once you mastered it? Confidence replaced fear, and it became second nature.

Survival swim lessons work the same way.

Yes, your child may be hesitant in the beginning. That’s normal. They’re discovering a new skill—one that could save their life.

Our instructors know how to gently guide kids through those initial moments of doubt.

We focus on patience, encouragement, and building trust in the water.

And here’s the magic: by the end of the program, we see kids who once cried now asking, “Can I go first?”

They feel proud of what they’ve accomplished.

They’re eager to get in the water, knowing they can handle it—without fear.

Our goal is never to scare children but to empower them.

They leave Infant Aquatics with life-saving skills and a sense of achievement that carries over into every pool day, beach trip, or backyard splash session.

Instead of hating swimming, they’ll love it even more—because now, they know they’re capable.

And that confidence? It lasts a lifetime.

Knowing My Kids Are Safer Around The Pool Sounds Awesome...

Imagine this... It is a warm summer day and you're at a family gathering.

The kids are playing around and there's a pool... but you're keeping a close eye on them.

In the blink of an eye... one of them slips and fall into the water.

Panic surges through you, but then you see it—they instinctively roll onto their back, floating calmly, breathing steadily... Just like they practiced.

Relief floods over you--they've mastered the self-rescue skills from our Infant Aquatics Swim-Float-Swim program.

There is no way around it - Drowning is a leading cause of accidental death for children under five, especially in Texas, where 90 children drowned in 2023 alone.

Traditional swim lessons often focus on play without imparting essential survival skills.

Floaties create a false sense of security and can be dangerous in a real emergency.

Infant Aquatics equips your child with the ability to save themselves in real-life scenarios.

Picture the pride swelling in your chest as other parents watch your child confidently (and joyfully) swimming to the side of the pool like its no big deal.

Other parents will marvel and ask, "Where did they learn to swim like that?"

Your child becomes a testament to effective training, and you ⎯ the parent who prioritized their safety and skill development.

This investment not only enhances your child's safety but also grants you unparalleled peace of mind.

What's the Investment for Your Child's Safety and Your Peace of Mind?

FAQ image

Why are lessons only 15 minutes long?

We keep lessons to 15 minutes because young children learn best in short, focused sessions. This approach helps them stay attentive and reduces fatigue, making each lesson more effective.

Shorter lessons also fit well with their natural energy levels, ensuring they remain engaged and happy during their time in the water.

By keeping sessions brief, we make sure your child enjoys learning to swim without feeling overwhelmed.

At what age can my baby start?

Babies can typically begin infant aquatics classes around 6 months of age. However, the ideal starting point varies depending on each child's individual development.

Factors like their ability to hold their head up steadily and roll over, as well as their overall comfort in the water, should be considered.

If you are unsure if your baby is ready to start lessons, you can always call/text us at (346)485-8015.

My child is no longer a toddler, is it too late to enroll them for survival swim lessons?

We welcome children up to 6 years old for our survival swim lessons. Even if your child is no longer a toddler, it's not too late for them to learn these vital skills.

Our goal is to ensure every child can confidently and consistently perform the swim-float-swim technique—a sequence where they swim, roll onto their back to float and breathe, then continue swimming.

Once your child masters this, they're ready to move on to stroke-specific lessons.

How often are lessons, and how long is the program?

Your child's lessons are scheduled Monday through Thursday, with Fridays set aside for weather-related make-up sessions.

Our Infant Survival Program typically lasts 5 to 6 weeks, while the Swim-Float-Swim Program usually runs 7 to 8 weeks.

This consistent schedule helps your child build and retain essential water safety skills effectively.

Do you offer refunds if we cancel lessons?

Your tuition payment secures a dedicated time slot for your child. If you need to miss a lesson for any reason, please note that we do not offer refunds or make-up sessions for missed classes.

This policy ensures that we can maintain a consistent schedule for all our students.

What if we have a vacation scheduled, is it OK to miss a week?

Consistent attendance is crucial for your child's progress in our swim programs. We recommend scheduling lessons at a time that doesn't conflict with planned vacations.

Regular participation helps your child build muscle memory, allowing them to instinctively roll over and float. Missing a week can significantly set back their development.

Please note that missed lessons are non-refundable.

Will my child forget the skills if they take a break from lessons?

At South Shore Infant Aquatics, we will schedule time during your lessons for parents to join their child in the pool and learn how to practice the swim-float-swim techniques together, helping your child retain these essential skills.

However, if a child takes more than a three-month break from swimming and practice, it's common for them to experience some regression. In such cases, we highly recommend scheduling a short refresher course to reinforce their abilities.

Please note, refresher lessons are only available to students who have already completed the swim-float-swim program.

Regular practice is key to maintaining your child's water safety skills. By staying active in the water, your child will continue to build confidence and proficiency.

Why do you recommend refresher lessons every year?

Regular practice is essential for maintaining your child's swimming skills. Without consistent reinforcement, these abilities can diminish over time.

We recommend annual refresher lessons (3-4 weeks) to ensure your child remains confident and proficient in the water.

These sessions help reinforce muscle memory and adapt skills to your child's physical growth and development.

Regular refreshers are key to maintaining your child's ability to swim safely, especially if you've been unable to practice with them consistently.

Just like any skill, swimming abilities can fade without regular practice.

Do you guarantee your lessons?

We are committed to providing effective and efficient swim instruction for your child.

We guarantee that our Infant Survival Program will not exceed 6 weeks, and our Swim-Float-Swim Program will not exceed 8 weeks. However, if your child is a fast learner, they may complete the program in less time.

Please note that unforeseen circumstances, such as weather delays, may extend the overall duration of the program beyond 6 or 8 weeks. Rest assured, you will never be charged more than the tuition for the initial 6 or 8 weeks, regardless of any delays.

To ensure the best outcome, it's essential for parents to adhere to all lesson guidelines. For example, practicing with your child outside of scheduled lessons can interfere with their progress and potentially extend the time needed to achieve the desired skills.

By following our guidelines, you can help your child succeed within the guaranteed time-frame.

Will my child learn to actually swim, or just survival skills?

Our primary focus is teaching children essential survival skills through the swim-float-swim technique. This method trains your child to swim, roll onto their back to float and breathe, then continue swimming.

Once your child masters these lifesaving skills, we offer advanced classes to further develop their swimming abilities. These classes aim to enhance their technique, build confidence, and foster a love for swimming.

Our goal is to ensure your child is not only safe in the water but also enjoys swimming as a lifelong activity.

What if we miss a lesson or show up late?

At Infant Aquatics, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may cause you to miss a lesson or arrive late.

However, consistent attendance is crucial for your child's progress. If you miss a lesson, please note that we do not offer refunds or make-up sessions for missed classes.

If you anticipate being late, please inform us as soon as possible. While we will do our best to accommodate, please understand that arriving late may result in a shortened lesson to avoid disrupting the schedule for other students.

Maintaining a consistent schedule helps ensure the best learning experience for your child and other students.

What if I can't afford to pay for swim lessons?

We understand that the cost of swim lessons can be a concern for many families. To assist, there are several organizations that offer scholarships to help make swim lessons more affordable:

Naomi's Grace: This organization provides swim lesson scholarships, covering up to $500 per child for survival-swim programs and $200 per child for learn-to-swim programs.

Swim Safe Forever: They offer partial scholarships for survival swim lessons based on financial need.

We recommend reaching out to these organizations to explore available options.

What is your weather policy?

The safety of our students is our top priority. In the event of inclement weather, such as lightning, thunder, or heavy rain, we may need to delay or cancel lessons to ensure everyone's safety.

We will do everything in our power to notify you of any cancellations at least 15 minutes before your scheduled lesson time.

Cancelled lessons due to weather will be rescheduled for Fridays, which we reserve specifically for make-up sessions.

Please ensure we have your most up-to-date contact information so we can communicate any changes promptly.

If you have any questions or concerns about our weather policy, feel free to reach out to us: (346)485-8015
